Martinez named CSUSB associate VP

Edna Martinez has been named associate vice president and administrator of Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert campus.

Martinez, who began Aug. 1, was hired following a national search and has been awarded a tenured academic appointment in the university’s James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education, according to a statement.

“Edna will bring a wealth of experience to the Palm Desert Campus and help shape the future for students in the Coachella Valley,” said Rafik Mohamed, provost and vice president for academic affairs, in the statement. “She will play a vital role in empowering faculty, staff, and students to achieve success.”

Martinez has more than 15 years of experience in higher education, including chair of the Department of educational leadership at the University of Texas, El Paso.
