Moreno Valley to get fourth library

Construction has begun on Moreno Valley’s Sunny Ranch Branch Library.

The structure at 23571 Sunnymead Ranch Parkway will be in District Two, giving each of Moreno Valley’s council district’s a library, according to a statement on the city’s website.

It will also be Moreno Valley’s first library north of the 60 Freeway and will be near several schools.

“The addition of the Sunnymead Ranch branch, our city’s fourth library, will provide an impressive collection of educational resources and high-tech equipment,” Mayor Ulises Cabrera said in the statement. “It will enhance access to knowledge and learning in our community.”

The 5,700-square-foot facility is expected to be completed in about 18 months. Cost of the project, which is being paid for with developer impact fees, was not disclosed.

When completed, the library will include two quiet study rooms, a program room for workshops and community meetings, a tech center, printing station and free Wi-Fi, according to the statement.
