Moreno Valley will soon start a meal program that will assist seniors during the COVID-19 crisis.
MoVal Senior Eats began accepting applications Monday and is scheduled to start May 18, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The program will deliver two nutritious meals a day to 150 Moreno Valley seniors, five days a week for the next two months. Besides helping seniors who might not be able to leave home, MoVal Senior Eats will provide much-needed business to local restaurants.
The program is a modified version of California’s Great Plates Delivered program, which is funded through a federal, state and local partnership, according to the statement.
