A graduate of La Sierra University has been named assistant general manager of Detroit Pistons.

Brian Wright, who graduated from La Sierra in 2004 with a degree in business administration, was named to the position with the NBA team earlier this week, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.

Wright, who played basketball at La Sierra, began working for the Orlando Magic in 2006 as a summer intern. He was soon moved up to scouting coordinator and eventually spent eight seasons with the team, working in scouting and player development, according to the report.
