Museum to hold Native American Festival

The San Bernardino County Museum will hold a festival Sunday in honor of Native American Heritage Month.

The event, which will include speakers, displays of artifacts and a scavenger hunt, is scheduled to be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to a statement.

“We are so excited to showcase and honor the Native Americans that live in and around our county,” said Tamara, Serrao-Leiva, the museum’s anthropology, said in the statement.

“Groups like the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians have been instrumental in providing the museum accurate historical accounts for our exhibits … visitors [Sunday] will have the rare opportunity to meet and engage with those who have first-hand experiences with some of the objects in our galleries.

The San Bernardino County Museum is at 2024 Orange Tree Lane next to Interstate 10. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for military or seniors, $7 for students an $5 for children aged five to 12. Parking is free.

Native American Heritage Festival activities are included with museum admission. For more information, visit www.sbcounty.gov/museum.
