Jason Simpson has taken over as Lake Elsinore’s city manager.
Formerly assistant city manager, Simpson assumed the city’s top administrative position last month, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Simpson was appointed to the position in January, after then-City Manager Grant Yates announced his retirement.
“Mr. Simpson has earned this opportunity and we are confident in his abilities to ensure a smooth, seamless transition that will allow us to build on our past success, keep our team united, and get things done,” Mayor Bob Magee said in the statement.
Simpson, who has worked in municipal government for more than 30 years has worked for Lake Elsinore since February 2014. He was appointed assistant city manager in 2015.
