Moreno Valley has reached an agreement with two entities to complete the Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project.
Skanska USA, a New York-based general contractor with an office in Riverside, was selected as a contractor by the Great American Insurance Company after the previous contractor defaulted, according to a statement posted Monday on the city’s website.
Great American is the bond company associated with the project. Skanska USA and Moreno Valley agreed to proceed with the project Oct. 10.
“The agreement with Skanska USA and Great American Insurance Company ensures that our Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project will get back on track and be completed in a timely manner,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez in the statement.
Construction, which will replace the existing two-lane bridge with a seven-lane structure, is expected to resume next month and be completed one year from now, according to the statement.
