Riverside is looking for a new police chief, and it wants the public’s help in making its choice.
Public meeting are scheduled to be held:
- Sept. 25 at Reid Park, Springbrook Banquet Room,1011 Orange St.;
Each meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
During those sessions, residents will be able to discuss safety issues, what attributes the new chief should have and how that person should interact with the community, according to a statement on the city’s website.
People may also submit their opinions at RiversideCA.gov/RPDchief.
Sergio Diaz retired this month as Riverside’s chief of police after serving nine years. Deputy Chief Larry Gonzalez is serving as interim chief.
