OIA lands pair of restaurants

Ontario International Airport is adding two restaurants.

WPizza by Wolfgang Puck and Einstein Bros. Bagels are both scheduled to open this week, according to a statement.

WPizza, which serves custom wood-fired dishes, is located in Terminal 2, while Einstein Bros. is in Terminal 4. Openings dates were not announced.

Both restaurants are the result of an agreement between the airport and Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Service. Delaware North is spending $6 million to refurbish and rebrand its food and beverage operations at the airport.

That agreement is to generate nearly $13 million in revenue during the next 10 years.

Airport officials have signed a similar agreement with Hudson Group Inc., the airport concessionaire chain, and ONT Retailers Joint Venture to upgrade the airport’s retail.

Several other restaurants, including Cross Grain Brewhouse, Plane Box Grab & Go and Wahoo’s Tacos & More will locate at Ontario International. More announcements from concessionaires are expected in the next few months, according to the statement.
