United Airlines began its inaugural daily flights between Ontario and Houston Thursday.
The flight from George Bush Intercontinental Airport landed at Ontario International Airport at approximately 10:55 p.m. local time, its scheduled arrival time, said Eren Cello, marketing director at Ontario International.
The departing flight also left on time, at 11:45 p.m. local flights. Both planes were either at or near capacity.
“We believe that by providing the exceptional customer service that airlines and air travelers have come to expect from world-class airports, Ontario Airport will be an excellent choice for travel to or from Southern California,” said Mark Thorpe, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in a statement.
Ontario International now provides flights that reach 21 domestic and international destinations with nonstop service, and it will soon have more. Starting next week, Southwest Airlines will add daily service to San Francisco with four flights a day Monday through Friday, three flights on Saturday and two on Sunday, according to the statement.
