Omnitrans employee lauded for reorganization efforts

Jannet Villaseñor has been named Omnitrans’ employee of the quarter.

An Omnitrans employee for eight months, Villaseñor was recognized for her outstanding work reorganizing the public transit agency’s West Valley parts warehouse, according to a statement.

Villaseñor scrubbed and mopped floors herself, then oversaw a team of employees that labeled, categorized and rearranged the warehouse.

“I revised and updated all the catalogs,” Villaseñor said. “If I am not organized, I am not able to work to my fullest potential. I had to make things better for us, to better help everyone in the mechanic shop.”

Villaseñor also separated and categorized extra parts from rebuild kits so those parts can be used in other repairs, a move that will help reduce the cost of buying parts.

“Because of Jannet’s ingenuity, the efficiency of our procurement-parts department has increased, allowing our mechanics to return buses to service, “ said Materials Manager Rick Barone in the the statement. “Jannet’s actions are an excellent example of outstanding customer service, communication and leadership skills.”
