Omnitrans offers discounts

Omnitrans patrons will soon be able to save a few dollars on single rides and one-day passes.

As of Tuesday, the San Bernardino County bus service is selling a package of ten full-fare single rides for $16, according to a statement on the agency’s website.

Those tickets would cost $17.50 if purchased individually.

Also, a 10-pack of full-fare one-day passes will cost $45 instead of $50, and reduced fares will be offered to military veterans, disabled people and anyone 18 or younger or 62 and older.

Also on Tuesday, Omnitrans stopped accepting pennies with on-board payments, according to the statement.

Purchases must be made with Omnitrans’ Token Transit mobile fare smart phone app.

Omnitrans, which began offering mobile fares in August, is offering the discount packages to encourage more customers to pay via that method, according to the statement.
