Omnitrans selects Mercurio for finance director

Joseph Mercurio has been named Omnitrans’ finance director.

Mercurio will manage the transit agency’s financial team, a job that includes overseeing budgets, capital funding, audits, and accounts payable among other duties, according to a statement on the agency’s website.

“Joe’s accounting expertise, positive attitude, and previous experience will be invaluable as we work to strategically increase service and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the agency,” said Erin Rogers, Omnitrans’ chief executive officer, and general manager, in the statement.

Mercurio, a certified public accountant, was promoted to accounting manager last year.

Omnitrans is the largest public transit agency in San Bernardino County, providing more than 10 million passenger trips annually, according to the statement.
