ON THE MOVE

Ron Carr, Perris’ assistant city manager, is retiring.

During his 12 years with the city, Carr supervised multiple departments, played a role in expanding parks and recreation services and helped the city get through the Great Recession, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Carr announced his retirement last month. His last day on the job was Thursday.

During a ceremony at the Oct.25 city council meeting, Carr was praised for his financial expertise, calm demeanor and his ability to deal civilly with critics.

Mayor Daryl Busch called Carr “a quiet dynamo” who met a variety on challenges but who always put the city’ interest first.

“He was a force for Perris, someone [who was] always looking out for our city,” Busch said in the statement. “He will be a difficult man to replace.”

Carr and his wife plan to move to Washington, according to the statement.
