Joseph Ramos, an emergency services officer with the Town of Apple Valley, has been named the town’s Employee of the Quarter.
Ramos, who began working in Apple Valley in 2006 in its recreation department, in February was put in charge of the community’s emergency operations and training, according a statement on the city’s website.
Ramos was recognized for his role in Apple Valley’s battling of the Blue Cut fire, which last August burned an estimated 37,000 acres in Cajon Pass and the Mojave Desert, according to the statement.
“He has embraced the responsibilities of this new role with vigor and dedication to excellence, which is reflected in his superior performance,” Town Manager Frank Robinson said in the statement. “His timely and accurate communication of events during the fluid nature of the Blue Cut fire was outstanding and ensured that our emergency operations center ran smoothly and efficiently.”
