On The Move

Joel Ledesma, deputy director of the State Water Project, will deliver the keynote address at the 11th annual San Bernardino County Water Conference, scheduled to be held Aug. 11 at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario.

The theme of this year’s event is “Managing Water for Extremes: Feast or Famine,” according to a statement released Thursday.

Panelists from the public and private sector will discuss how they are coping with the state’s ever-changing water supply.

The water project is part of the state Department of Water Resources. Ledesma, who has held several positions with the department since 1991, was appointed deputy director earlier this month, according to the statement.

The event will be held from 9 a.m to 11 p.m. To buy tickets or ask about a sponsorship, please call (909) 795-7760.

Tickets are $125 each and include lunch and participation in the event program. For more information visit www.biabuild.com/water-conference.
