Palm Springs forms economic recovery group

Palm Springs has formed the Palm Springs Business Transition and Re-Entry Task Force, a group of business people who will plan the city’s economic recovery once safety precautions related to COVID-19 are eased.

The 20-member group includes Celeste Brackley of the Palm Springs Hospitality Association, Jeff Grubbe, tribal chairman of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, Joy Meredith of Main Street Palm Springs, Jay Virata, Palm Springs’ director of community and economic development and Nona Watson, chief executive officer of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.

“The goal of this task force is to prepare for the reopening of our economy so the Palm Springs community can successfully and safely get our businesses open and our local economy thriving once again” Mayor Geoff Kors said in the statement.

Where the group will meet, and how often, was not disclosed.
