Palm Springs opens homeless shelter

Palm Springs is providing temporary shelter for the homeless at the city’s access shelter.

The program, which the city is undertaking in partnership with Martha’s Village & Kitchen, began last month and is scheduled to last until March 15, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The center at 225 S. El Cielo Road is open from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. seven days a week. Twenty beds are available every night and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Martha’s Village & Kitchen in Indio helps impoverished and homeless people throughout the Coachella Valley. It offers multiple services and is one of the largest entities of its kind in Riverside County,
