The Palm Springs Fire Department will hold a special ceremony Wednesday commemorating the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
All Coachella Valley residents are asked to attend the event, which will be held at the 9/11 memorial in front of the fire department headquarters, 300 N. El Cielo Road, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The program will begin at 5:46 a.m. with a moment of silence. All city flags will be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
“The Palm Springs Fire Department invites everyone in our community to join us on Sept. 11 to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives on that terrible day 18 years ago,” said Chief Kevin Nalder in the statement. “We can never thank them enough for their service, and we will never forget.”
