Diane Podolske has won the Citizen of Achievement Award presented by the League of Women Voters in San Bernardino.
Podolske, director of Cal State San Bernardino’s Office of Community Engagement, was recognized by the league for connecting students and faculty with local nonprofits, schools, and government entities.
“In fact, Podolske is captain and crew for community engagement in the Inland Empire,” said Twilley Evans-Carthen, director of Ombuds Services at Cal State San Bernardino, in a statement.
Evans-Carthen won the same award in 2013.
The recognition from the League of Women Voters demonstrates the value of the work she’s been doing, according to Podolske.
“Awards are always a happy surprise, and I’m grateful to receive one from the League of Women Voters,” she said in the statement. “I view this award … as an opportunity to recommit to the work of supporting emerging leaders that are advocating for real social change.”
