The sale of The Press-Enterprise to Freedom Communications is expected to become final next week.
Freedom Communications will buy The Press-Enterprise and most of its operations for $27.25 million in cash from A.H. Belo Corp. in Dallas, according to a report originally published in The Press-Enterprise.
The sale was originally expected to close in just four days when it was first announced on Oct. 10. However, Freedom Communications agreed to a payment in exchange for extending the closing date of the purchase, according to the report.
