Dr. Prem Reddy, founder and chief executive officer of PrimeHealthcare in Ontario, has been given the Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
Reddy was recognized for saving and improving hospitals across the nation, including Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Mich., and Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron, Mich. The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce is headquartered in Michigan.
Reddy accepted the award at a recent chamber gathering attended by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Reddy, a cardiologist, is a native of India. He founded PrimeHealthcare in 2001 as a vehicle to upgrade hospitals so they could provide healthcare to underserved communities.
Today, PrimeHealthcare operates 45 hospitals in 14 states, according to the statement.
