Theologian Patrick B . Reyes will deliver La Sierra University’s 19th annual Paul J. Landa Memorial Lecture on Faith and Learning.
Reyes is director of strategic partnerships for doctoral initiatives at the Forum for Theological Exploration in Decatur, Ga. according to a statement on the school’s website.
He is also the author of Nobody Cries When We Die: God, Community and Surviving to Adulthood, which was published in 2016. His work focuses primarily on students and communities of color.
Reyes is scheduled to speak at 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at La Sierra University Church, 4937 Sierra Vista Ave., Riverside.
The Paul J. Landa Memorial Lecture is sponsored by the university’s H.M.S. Richards Divinity School. Landa, who taught at La Sierra and Loma Linda universities for 26 years, is remembered for his work on the history of Christianity, according to the statement.
