Restaurant chain to enter High Desert market

A restaurant chain that fuses sushi and Mexican seafood will open its first location in the High Desert.

Culichi Town has agreed to lease a 6,000-square-foot space at 12728 Main St. in Hesperia, according to Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga,.

Progressive helped negotiate the agreement, which was announced this week. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

Construction is underway and is expected to be finished next month.

This will be Culichi Town’s 10th California location and its sixth in the Inland Empire. It operates restaurants in Montclair, Mira Loma, Moreno Valley, Colton and Rialto and maintains its corporate offices in Ontario.

The restaurant site, formerly a Hidden Tavern, was built in the late 1990s and renovated two years ago. It’s part of a 370,000-square-foot shopping center whose tenants include Super Target, Ross, Marshalls, Pier 1 Imports and Planet Fitness.

Culichi Town was founded in 2011. It serves “Sinaloa-stye” food, which is a combination of traditional seafood and sushi, according to a statement.
