Riverside County has reached an agreement that allows thousands of county residents confined to their homes to get vaccinated.
The county recently signed a $300,000 contract with United Lab Services in Corona that will pay the company $75 for each vaccination while providing it with the vaccine, according to a statement on the county’s website.
The county’s homebound population is estimated to be 3,000 people.
“This is such a critically needed service,” said Dr. Geoffrey Leung, the county’s public health officer, in the statement. “Vaccines are available to so many in our community, and we did not want to leave out those who cannot come to our clinics for the vaccine.”
Riverside County is administering Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson and Johnson vaccines at its clinics. More than 1.9 million doses have been administered in the county at county-operated clinics and those run by community partners.
Any homebound Riverside County resident seeking a vaccination should call (833) 422-4255, or visit https://myturn.ca.gov/.
