Riverside businesses to hold paper shredding

A certified public accountant and a tax management service, both in Riverside, will host a free document shredding today for their clients.

The second annual C. Dart CPA and Leivas Tax Wealth Management Client Appreciation Event is scheduled to be held from 4-7 p.m. in the parking lot of 6370 Brockton Ave., said Craig Dart, a certified public accountant and owner of C. Dart CPA.

Both companies operate out of that building.

Shred-It, a paper and document destruction service in San Bernardino, will provide two semi trucks with shredders, the same number that were used at last year’s event.

Clients of both business will be able to dispose of old tax returns, business files and virtually anything else they wish to get rid of that can be shredded, Dart said.

The In-N-Out Burger truck is scheduled to be on hand.

Before last year’s event, officials at both companies were looking for way to say ‘thank you’ to their business partners and came up with the idea of hosting a paper shredding.

“It’s relevant because of all of the identity theft that’s going on,” Dart said. “There’s a lot of concern about that.”

About 150 people have said they plan to attend the event Thursday, about 50 more than last year, Dart said.
