The Riverside County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to adopt the 2024-’25 fiscal year budget June 25.
The recommended budget makes available more than $9.6 billion for essential services, a substantial increase of 11 percent compared to last year’s $8.6 billion budget, according to a statement on the county’s website.
“Our priority is to our residents and ensuring that everyone has access to the vital services that improve their quality of life,” said Board Chair Chuck Washington, third district supervisor, in the statement. “Continuing to address issues like affordable housing and homelessness head-on is critical, and in the same regard so is public safety.”
The general fund is balanced for the third consecutive year. The new fiscal year will start July 1.
