Riverside County to hold default auction

Riverside County is scheduled to hold its annual sale of defaulted properties April 25-30.

The online auction, which was approved by the board of supervisors in January, will be held on Bid4Assets.com, according to a statement on the county’s website.

“This is a process that our office facilitates with the utmost transparency,” said Matthew Jennings, the county’s treasurer-tax collector, in the statement. “Through an online format we increase the volume of potential bidders and overall access to those interested in participating.”

One hundred and fifty two tax defaulted properties will be offered. Collectively, those entities owe more than $4.5 million in unpaid taxes. Approximately 106 structures or homes, and 46 vacant parcels, will be available.
