Riverside fills administrative posts

Riverside has a new assistant city manager and finance director.

Edward Enriquez and Kristie Thomas were recently named to those positions, respectively, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Enriquez, who has been interim city manager for about the past year, will remain chief financial officer and treasurer.

“I’m honored to be entrusted with such an important role in our organization,” Enriquez said in the statement. “My previous finance experience, as well as the time I have spent in this role on an interim basis, has prepared me well for the work ahead.”

Enriquez will also oversee the Finance, Human Resources, General Services, and Innovation and Technology departments.

Thomas, who has been Riverside’s chief financial officer for the past three years, will report to Enriquez. Thomas has experience in the Accounting, Budget, Purchasing, Risk Management, and Business Tax divisions.

For the past year, Thomas has managed the day-to-day operations of the finance department and served as chief financial officer in Enriquez’s absence, according to the statement.
