Riverside looking to add to building tour

Riverside is looking for more locations for Doors Open, its annual tour of the city’s historic and otherwise noteworthy buildings.

Any buildings or structures in the city that have “architectural significance” are welcome to apply, provided they are willing to be open between 10 a.m and 4 p.m. May 11, the day of the event, according to statement on the city’s website.

About 1,000 people visited historic downtown buildings and churches when Doors Open, reportedly the only event of its kind in California, was first held three years ago.

Tours start at 10 a.m. and occur every 20 minutes after that. The event is sponsored by Riverside, the Mission Inn Foundation and the Riverside Downtown Partnership.

If you have a qualified building email Janice Penner at [email protected] or register your location at DoorsOpenRiverside.com.
