Riverside is offering new business owners the chance to obtain and renew their business tax certificates online rather than at city hall.
The service, which has been available to existing businesses for several years, makes it possible for them to meet their business tax requirements with the city quickly and efficiently, according to a statement.
Anyone interested can begin the process by visiting www.riversideca.gov/finance/license.asp, which includes an automated and email links with city staff.
“New business owners have a lot on their minds already, so if we can simplify the business tax certificate process by offering an online option, that’s one less thing [for them] to worry about,” Mayor Rusty Bailey said in the statement. “Riverside is
business friendly, and this is another example of that.”
Riverside processes approximately 3,000 requests for new business tax certificates every year. Those requests are made when a business opens or an existing business changes ownership.
The city has more than 20,000 business tax certificate accounts, according to the statement.
