Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey is scheduled to deliver the annual State of the City address Jan. 25 at the Riverside Convention Center.
The speech, which is being produced by the city and the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, will be Bailey’s sixth State of the City address, according to a statement.
This year’s theme is “Create Value for Future Generations.”
Bailey will also announce the winner of the Dr. Carlos E. Cortes Award for Championing Diversity and Inclusivity. Cortes, a Professor of History Emeritus at UC Riverside, has long championed both of those ideals.
“One measure of a city’s effectiveness is the degree to which it prepares for future generations,” Bailey said in the statement. “I’m proud of the way our local government continues to make hard decisions, and how our community selflessly invests in Riverside, to ensure our city is the best it can be for our next generation.”
Registration will begin at 5 p.m., thirty minutes before the program is scheduled to start. General admission seating is free, reserved seating costs $50 and includes a ticket to the reception after the speech.
Tickets for reserved seating may be purchased at www.riverside-chamber.com and clicking “Events” and “Online Registration,” or by calling (951) 683-7100.
