Route 66 car show set for next month

This year’s Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion, the yearly three-day classic car show sponsored by the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau, is scheduled to be held Sept. 15-17 in downtown Ontario.

The fifth annual event will be held along a two-block stretch of Euclid Avenue near the Ontario Town Square, Ovitt Family Community Library and Ontario City Hall, according to a statement.

Admission is free, and families are encouraged to attend. Last year’s event attracted approximately 200,000 people.

On Tuesday, the chamber announced this year’s entertainment lineup:

Sept. 15:
5-10 pm Let’s Cruise – Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion begins with Aloha Friday
5-9 pm Uncle Joe’s Garage at the R. Jack Mercer Bandstand
7 pm Hawaiian themed dancing
8 pm Uncle Joe with the Sound/Ugliest Hawaiian Shirt Contest.
8:15 -10 pm Surf City All Stars – A Tribute to the Beach Boys

Sept. 16:
9-10 am Let’s Cruise
10 am – 6 pm KLOS team/DJ Jim Daniels at the R. Jack Mercer Bandstand
7:30 pm Classic Car Awards. 50/50 winner announced.
8-10 pm Blood, Sweat, and Tears with Bo Bice – Classic Rock

Sept. 17:
9-11 am Beatles tribute band
9 am-1pm Let’s Cruise
