San Bernardino International Airport is conducting a “Good Neighbor” outreach program that will educate local business owners and residents about developments at the airport and its potential impact on the community.
“Increased operations from emergency services like fire-fighting aircraft and sheriff helicopters, as well as air cargo planes and general aviation aircraft, can make our skies seem like a pretty busy place,” said Mark Gibbs, the airport’s aviation director, in a statement on the airport’s website.
“The Good Neighbor program allows the airport to explain the operations at the airport and, most importantly, to receive feedback from those who live and work nearby.”
The Good Neighbor Program will also provide education videos, presentations, and statistics that detail the airport’s operations.
SBIA is the former Norton Air Force Base. Since it was decommissioned in 1994, it has specialized in air cargo, corporate and general aviation, and other aviation support services, according to the statement.
