Henry D. Shannon, Chaffey College’s president and superintendent, has been recognized for his promotion of racial equality.
Growing Inland Achievement, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the Inland Empire’s educational system and economy, presented Shannon with a Toward a Shared Vision Award during an Oct. 26 conference at the Riverside Convention Center, according to a statement.
“It is our job as educational leaders to help all students in our region succeed, and that means providing extra support to students who need it so they can earn a degree, certificate, or diploma,” Shannon said in the statement. “
Tomas D. Morales, president of California State University San Bernardino, and Assemblywoman Sabrina Cervantez also received awards, according to the statement.
