State gas prices remain high

California is way ahead of almost everyone when it comes to gasoline prices.

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline on Monday in the state was $3.45, which was second only to Alaska at $3.47 a gallon, according to the American Automobile Association’s Daily Fuel Gage Report.

In the Inland Empire, the average price Monday for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.50, a drop of about 33 cents a gallon compared with one month ago. Also, California’s excise tax on gasoline was scheduled to drop six cents, to 30 cents a gallon, on Wednesday.
