Stater Bros. Charities has raised $478,480 for the City of Hope.
The money, which will support pediatric cancer treatment throughout Southern California, was raised during a recent 12-day campaign. Shoppers donated $1 or $5 while checking out, according to a statement released Monday.
Specifically, the funds will be used to address the needs of infants, children, teens, and families during hospital stays and outpatient treatment.
The Murrieta store located at 25050 Hancock Ave. raised $20,065, the most of any store.
“We are incredibly thankful for our valued customers and employees who generously contributed to this very important cause,” stated Nancy Negrette, chairman, and president of Stater Bros. Charities, in the statement. “Because of them, we are able to make a greater impact in the communities we serve.”
Based in Duarte, the City of Hope is a world-famous cancer research and treatment center. One of its specialties is blood disorders that often occur in children, adolescents, and young adults, according to the statement.
Stater Bros. Charities is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the critical needs in the communities where employees live and work.
