Stater Bros. Charities is giving an assist to the San Bernardino Police Department’s Honor Guard.
The charity, which it does its work in communities where employees of the supermarket chain live and work, has donated to the Honor Guard new badges and cap pieces, according to a statement.
The Honor Guard is a group of officers who, on their own time, represent the department and the city of San Bernardino at various events: funerals, memorial services, graduations and opening ceremonies.
“The addition of the new badges and cap pieces signify the honor and respect the unit holds for the city of San Bernardino and the event in which they are participating,” said Dennis Houser, a detective in the department’s homicide unit, in the statement. “We are very grateful to Mr. Jack H. Brown [Stater Bros.’ executive chairman] and the entire Stater Bros. family for their assistance with this project.”
