Stater Bros., PepsiCo to help children of deceased veterans

Stater Bros. Charities is partnering with PepsiCo Beverages North America to contribute $50,000 to the Fallen Patriots Foundation.

The money will be used to pay for college scholarships and educational counseling for children who have lost a parent in the line of duty, according to a statement on Stater Bros. Charities website.

This is the third consecutive year the two companies have donated that amount of money to the foundation.

“Supporting Children of Fallen Patriots is one of the ways we can honor those who died defending our country,” said Nancy Negrette, chairman and president of Stater Bros. Charities, in the statement. “We’re proud to continue our partnership with PepsiCo and Children of Fallen Patriots to provide college education opportunities and invest in the future of America.

Since 2002, Fallen Patriots has provided more than $38.4 million assistance to approximately 1,800 military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty, according to the statement.
