Stater Bros. recently awarded employees who have reached, or will reach, a milestone anniversary with the company this year.
In all, 1,318 workers were honored this year, including two who have worked for the supermarket chain 50 years and eight who were recognized for 45 years of service, according to a statement.
Employees who reach 5, 10 and 15 years of service in 2019 received a gold pin. Employees who reach 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 50 years were honored at a gala awards dinner at the Ontario Convention Center, where each received a gold service award pin decorated with gemstones.
“I am proud that so many employees have chosen to make Stater Bros. their career,” said Pete Van Helden, chief executive officer of Stater Bros. Markets Inc., in the statement. “It has been said that you judge a person by the company they keep and a company by the people they keep. In my 40 years in the grocery industry, I’ve never seen such a loyal team … like our Stater Bros. family.”
Stater Bros., the largest private employer in the Inland Empire, has honored nearly 11,000 employees since it began the awards program in 1987, according to the statement.
