Stater Bros. to help food drive

Stater Bros. Markets is partnering with ABC Ch. 7 and Subaru Retailers in support of the 13th Annual Feed SoCal Food Drive.

A combination of inflation and the end of CalFresh, COVID-19’s emergency food allotments, has raised the risk of low-income families not having enough nutritious food to eat, according to a statement released by Stater Bros.

“This campaign is very near to our hearts, because we recognize that having a reliable source of food is a foundational human need,” said Nancy Negrete, chairman and president of Stater Bros. Charities, in the statement. ”We are grateful to have partners like ABC7, Subaru Retailers and our local food banks who share our vision of helping those faced with food insecurity.”

Through the end of the June Stater Bros. shoppers will have four ways to donate to Feed SoCal: fill out a $5 donation card while at the checkout stand, drop change into coin canisters at the checkout stand, text “FEEDSOCAL” to 41444 or visit https://www.staterbros.com/feedsocal/.

All donations benefit Stater Bros. Charities, the nonprofit arm of Stater Bros. Markets. Stater Bros. Charities will distribute all of the donations to its food bank partners during the summer, according to the statement.
