“Swap zone” established for internet purchase

The Moreno Valley Police has set up a swap zone for city residents who make online transactions.

The zone, located at the police department headquarters, 22850 Calle San Juan de Los Lagos, is equipped with security cameras, according to a statement.

It is meant to be a safe alternative to meeting in a secluded place or someone’s home. Exchanges of weapons and other dangerous material are not permitted.

The area is also being made available for families with custodial arrangements who need to exchange children.

As websites like Craigslist LetGo have become more popular, communities have seen an increase assaults and robberies, which is why swap zones are popping up throughout the country.
