Tribal resort/casino may reopen next month

Pechanga Resort Casino has targeted June 1 as a possible reopening date.

The resort, next to Interstate 15 in Temecula, has been closed since March because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a statement.

“We anticipate limited gaming, restaurants and other amenities will be allowed at the initial reopening,” read the brief statement on the Pechanga tribe’s website.

Some California businesses, including clothing and music stores and florists, were allowed to opening during the past weekend.

Other businesses – including theme parks, malls, gyms and restaurants with dine-in service – are required by the statement to remain shuttered.
