Trio of IE businesses to receive SBA awards

Three Inland Empire businesses have been named district award winners by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Orange County/Inland Empire chapter, according to a statement.

• Mark Vaca of Riverside, owner of OCS Construction Services, Inc. is 2019 Runner-Up Small Business Person of the Year;
• Eric E. Schmidt of Adelanto, president and Kevin Mahaffy, chief executive officer of Exquadrum, Inc. is the 2019 Grant Recipient of the Year;
• Janine Gass and Darcy N. Thomas-Maskrey of Riverside, president and vice president of Techniglove International, Inc. are the 2019 Family-Owned Business of the Year.

All will receive their awards at the local Small Business Week Awards program, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. June 7 at the Disneyland Hotel. For more information email [email protected] or call (949) 891-1464.

The Orange County-Inland Empire District headquarters is in Santa Ana. It provides loans, conducts training sessions and special events and manages portfolios for nearly 100 businesses in its business development program, according to the statement.
