Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday Morning at 9:30 on AM590

Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!

This week, Ed wants to discuss what happened in Kentucky with county clerk Kim Davis. When Davis refused to process marriage documents for same-sex couples this week, she was taken into police custody. “This is total Nazi Germany,” Ed says, “and most people out there didn’t even hear about it.” If you weren’t aware of this development, tune in to The Main Event this week.

Next it’s on to the Black Lives Matter movement, which is growing more organized and more violent. By now, everyone knows the group’s favorite new chant: “Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon.” For those who don’t know, “pigs” means police officers and “in a blanket” means dead. “I don’t think I have to tell you what “fry ‘em like bacon” means,” Ed says. He will discuss the quote everyone’s talking about from a Black Lives Matter leader; he referred to the chant being “playful,” and claimed that nearby officers were “laughing and joking along with the protestors.” If you haven’t heard this yet, tune in to The Main Event to hear this unbelievable claim.

Next, Ed will address the two police officers gunned down in cold blood by people believed to be inspired by Black Lives Matter. The first officer, Houston sheriff’s deputy Darren Goforth, was shot execution style while pumping gas into his police car last weekend. He left behind a wife and two children. The gunman, Shannon Miles, has not been formally associated with Black Lives Matter – and yet, it seems clear to Ed he was inspired by them. “Yeah, I think that seems pretty clear when people all over the place are talking about killing police officers,” Ed says.

But now, the media is getting excited because it was revealed that Miles was found mentally incompetent to stand trial on a felony assault charge in 2012. This week, CNN tried to change the narrative by making sure people knew Miles had a mental illness – and Ed is having none of it. He also has choice words for the President, who reportedly called Officer Goforth’s widow – but like many conservatives, Ed believes the President should send White House representatives to the funerals of Goforth and Lieutenant Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, who was killed on duty in Illinois on Tuesday morning by assailants who have still not been caught.

And yet, the most controversial question of the week was, “Should Black Lives Matter be classified as a hate group?” If you haven’t heard that yet, tune in this week; it’s not nearly as outrageous as the left-leaning media would have you think. Ed also has thoughts on who the real members of Black Lives Matter are, and surmises they may be getting paid by liberal billionaire George Soros.

Next it’s on to presidential politics, namely Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. 7,000 pages of Hillary Clinton’s emails were released by the State Department on Monday – and while much of the media focus has been on the humorous emails about Hillary’s personal life, including the now-infamous “gefilte fish” email – what’s important is that 150 emails were redacted because of information now deemed classified. Ed asks, “Why weren’t those 150 deemed classified before?” And, he says, “As Secretary of State, didn’t she expect that some of her emails would be classified?”

There’s even more banter and analysis on this week’s The Main Event; don’t miss it!
