Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!
This week, everyone’s talking about Hillary Clinton’s testimony before the House Select Committee on Benghazi. Of the various members of Congress who grilled the former Secretary of State all day Thursday, Ed says, “Every minute they talked was a minute she didn’t have to worry about saying something stupid.” If you missed the testimony, not to worry; Ed has you covered on this week’s show.
For example, you’ll hear Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) questioning Ms. Clinton on the “anti-Muslim video” narrative that permeated the administration’s false messaging on the attack. Congressman Jordan says all the things that thinking Americans have been wanting to say to Clinton for the past 3 years; Ed plays four minutes of Jordan’s questioning and it is riveting. In the second half of the show, you’ll hear from Rep. Susan Brooks (R-IN), who Ed calls a “bulldog” in her questioning of Hillary, and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), one of the many Democrats who filled his time with grandstanding in an attempt to make his Republican colleagues look bad. Naturally, Ed calls that “political BS.”
You’ll also hear an incredible montage of clips that form a timeline of statements from the administration on Benghazi. They start on September 11, 2012 and continue through September 18th, with the ever-evolving narrative being spun by Clinton, then-Ambassador Susan Rice, then-Press Secretary Jay Carney and President Obama. This is an eye-opening timeline Ed has put together, and you don’t want to miss it. You’ll also hear his humorous take on Hillary’s statement to the committee that Benghazi attackers “reputedly used the video to gather other attackers.” Ed’s response: “What if they used Oreo cookies to gather attackers? Are we going to blame Oreo cookies for what happened and throw them in jail?” He’s just getting started, though; tune in to hear the rest! Moving on after that, you’ll hear Ed’s thoughts on Joe Biden deciding not to run for President and Carly Fiorina dropping in the polls. This is the political analysis you need to wrap up the week.
But it isn’t all national politics this week. Ed also has a few tips on finding investment properties in the Inland Empire, as well as some good information on reverse mortgages that homeowners 62 and over will definitely want to hear. Also on the local front, Ed has a cool story about the Reaper, a remote piloted aircraft at March Air Reserve Base. If the aircraft is going to be used, the request has to go all the way to U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter. There’s more to the story (isn’t there always?), and you don’t want to miss it.
