Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday Morning at 9:30 on AM590

Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, as well as real estate and mortgage trends. Ed delivers intelligent radio with unique, witty and irreverent flair.

This week, Ed opens the show with audio from two movies: “Jerry Maguire” and “The Wedding Singer,” and both of the scenes address money. These tie into some topics addressed on the show; keep listening to hear the connection!

First, though, Ed plays President Obama’s interview with Vice Magazine. It begins with interviewer Shane Smith’s softball question on handling criticism, “How do you do it? Are you a masochist?” Obama’s response includes comments that being President is “a fun job,” and he tries to stay focused on his “north star,” which are the things he considers important.

Ed’s reaction? The President’s job isn’t supposed to be “fun,” and the things the President regards as important appear to be golf, global warming, being on TV and partying with celebrities – that’s it. Speaking of global warming, it was the topic that dominated the interview. The President’s comments reinforced what he has been saying for the past several years: that he believes climate change is one of the greatest threats we face.

But it’s interesting to note that just this week, a climate scientist called global warming a $22 billion scam designed to generate money for everyone from solar corporations to the Democratic politicians who preach it as gospel. In fact, the UK Telegraph just reported that Al Gore become the world’s first “carbon billionaire” – and other reports have revealed that Obama used taxpayer money to finance his re-election campaign by funneling it through Solyndra. There’s a lot to be learned about this scam, and you can learn some of it on this week’s The Main Event.

This week, the President told a Cleveland audience that he likes the idea of mandatory voting, which is enforced in countries like Australia and Belgium. If we legally force everyone to vote, we’re giving more power to the uninformed young people who can’t even name the Vice President but can answer any reality TV question you throw at them. Ed plays a clip of students at Texas Tech University who fit this description; it will absolutely make you will cringe. He follows it up with some encouraging advice for young people who want to rise above their less informed peers; tune in to hear what it is!

You can also hear Ed’s thoughts on:

The President’s assertion that “the stock market is doing great”
The process that turns a national deficit into national debt
The unemployment rate – it’s not the 5.5% figure the President is telling us
The President’s dubious claim about “healthcare inflation”
