Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM 590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market with unique, witty and irreverent flair.
This is our town, our country and our time to recognize that. The President doesn’t own this country, we do. Ed opens with a clip from the film “The Quick and the Dead” delivered by Gene Hackman who proclaims that he is the president of the town and he owns it. Ed vehemently disagrees and reminds us that we need to take charge, think clearly and come to our own conclusions.
Ed continues this week with the saga in Nevada involving rancher Clive Bundy, who apparently does not know when to silence himself. When interviewed he went on a tangent about Black Americans which you can hear on the show along with Ed’s opinion about his tirade.
Could there be a conspiracy happening under our noses? Ed will explore certain situations brewing in our nation and see whether they are all related in a bigger picture.
First is how the government, through the Bureau of Land Management, is trying to stake claim on the piece of property behind Bundy’s land near the Nevada/Arizona border. A similar situation is occurring over land in Texas along the Red River that is close to the Texas/Oklahoma border. Ed will examine these situations and question why the government is so interested in procuring land situated near state borders.
Along with the land issue, Ed questions why the Postal Service issued a request for a bid in small arms ammunition. What does the post office need firearms? In addition, other federal departments are following suit, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. What does the NOAA need firearms for? Tune in to listen to Ed’s theories.
The government is procuring land, acquiring firearms, and now they are challenging veterans’ second amendment right to bear arms if they have ever been late in paying their bills. If that isn’t insult enough, listen to Ed as he explains how the veterans may have to register just like sex offenders because they may suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and they would be considered a risk to their communities. Veterans would also have to tell their neighbors that they are veterans. Ed challenges these legislatures for considering this type of bill.
The IRS issued over $2.8 million in bonuses between October 2010 and December 2012 and the public is just now hearing about it. Ed loathes that we taxpayers are paying public employees to do their jobs, and he will elaborate.
Finally, U.S. Attorney Eric Holder is proposing that non-violent criminals be released early from jail and felons be allowed to vote, all happening while there is legislation that would get rid of the electoral college. All sounds fishy when all these situations are strung together.
