David Foster has been named Victorville’s fire chief.
Foster, who has more than 40 years of experience in fire prevention service, is scheduled to start work on April 3, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Most recently, Foster served as chief of the Village Fire Department near Houston, a department similar in size to Victorville’s department,
Before that, Foster was Dekalb County Fire Department chef, which serves more than one million people in the Atlanta metro area.
“We selected David because of his breadth and depth of experience leading both large and small fire departments,” said Keith Metzler, Victorville city manager, in the statement.
“We are confident David is the right person to lead Victorville Fire through the next phase of its development.”
