Mark Wardlaw has been named San Bernardino County’s land use services director.
Wardlaw, who previously held a similar position in San Diego County, started work earlier this month, according to a statement on San Bernardino County’s website.
Wardlaw is in charge of 210 employees and a $36 million budget, according to the statement.
“We are pleased to have someone with Mr. Wardlaw’s experience and track record,” said Dawn Rowe, board chair, in the statement. “Land Use Services plays a key role in improving the quality of life for San Bernardino County residents.”
Wardlaw also worked for the San Diego Centre City Development Corporation, where he helped enable the development of Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, according to the statement.
